Resurrection Rolls

A few days before Easter, I was reading this blog and I thought her idea for "Resurrection Rolls" was so fun! So of course we had to try it out :) Maya's favorite thing these days is helping me cook. I can honestly end a tantrum by offering to let her help me measure something. She pushes her Learning Tower all around our kitchen constantly ~ that thing is the best craigslist find ever! Anyway, back to the rolls.

First, of course, you wash your hands.

Then you take your marshmallow (Jesus)

and roll it in butter (annoint with oils)

and cinnamon-sugar (incense).

Wrap the marshmallow (Jesus) in a crescent roll (shroud)

and put it in the oven (tomb).

When you are done baking, the marshmallow (Jesus) has disappeared! It was so cute to see Maya try to figure out where it went!

But she soon forgot about the missing marshmallow and enjoyed her delicious cinnamon roll!

I think this was a really fun (and delicious!) way to teach young children about the resurrection, and I have a feeling it will be a yearly tradition!

The Challenges of Photographing Littles

They won't look at the camera. They won't smile. They WON'T SIT STILL.

For my last post (about our trip to the park), I had over 600 (that's six-HUNDRED) pictures. I'm not exaggerating. It seems extreme, but I get about a 1%-2% return on investment when it comes to picture taking (as in, 1-2 of 100 pictures will be clear and with at least one child looking at the camera and/or smiling).

The girlies got new jammies for Easter and I wanted to get some cute pictures to share.

Believe me when I say these are the best of the best

You don't even want to see the rest of them!

Day at the Park

We are soaking up all of this beautiful sunshine. I think this is the first year that I have truly appreciated all of the wonder that comes with spring. We have been spending hours and hours outside, evidenced by the color returning to our skin! Today we took a trip to one of our local parks ~ in NE Ohio we have such a great park system, and we are never at a loss to find a fun place to go. Our choice for today was Hudson Springs park in Hudson ~ they have a walking/running path through the woods, a nice lake, and a couple of toddler-friendly jungle gyms and swings. Charlotte practiced her standing while Maya played, and just when we were getting tired of the park, Michael showed up and everything became new and fun again (in Maya's eyes, anyway! :)). Here are some pictures of our day!
