2 more days!

Michael commented the other day that Charlotte is looking less and less like a baby and more like a toddler, and I begrudgingly agree.

How is she almost 1 already?

My Dirty Little Secret

My house is almost constantly in a state of disarray.

I do try, but somehow all the blankets get unfolded, the dishes are dirty all the time, laundry piles up, toys are strewn about, and every surface is covered with what can on a good day be described as "clutter".

And don't even get me started about the basement and garage!

Michael has had some vacation time, and I thought it would be a GREAT day to try to get some things done. So I started with a list:

And then I realized that today was Michael's last day off. And that the weather was GORGEOUS! And that we've been spending way too much time indoors or in the car. So instead of "clean for one hour" and "clean out basement/garage/cars/office", we did this:

While Michael did this:

the girlies and I played here:

We ate dinner out here:

"Naptime for girlies" turned into "family nap". But, we did walk to the library, get a birthday outfit for Thing2, the girlies are in bed, and I am now blogging, so at least I accomplished part of what I set out to do!

Splash!

I'm working on a post about Michael's dad's wedding from this weekend ~ Maya was a flower girl and was pretty stinkin cute in my not-so-humble opinion! Of course the bride and groom looked wonderful as well :D In the meantime, while I sift through my hundreds of pictures, here are just a few :) Larry (Michael's dad) has a pool and it was basically all Maya could talk about from the time she saw it until we FINALLY got in late-ish Friday evening. She is getting quite brave when it comes to the pool!

It was dark outside, so some of the pictures aren't that great. But, sometimes it's more important to capture the moment than to take a perfect photo!

That same night, I had to get out of the pool with Charlotte (poor little thing doesn't have enough body fat to stay warm in the water! :)), so I got to watch some fun little contests that Michael and his siblings had. It would appear that catching a ball mid-air is a little more challenging than jumping through an innertube!

(Woot!)

(Go Chris!)

Almost, Patrick! Better luck next time! Maybe Michael can get it?

So close...yet so far :P
